Phrase for Today.

Don't let anybody tell you you're wasting your time when you're gazing into space. There is no other way to conceive the imaginary world...I daydream about my characters...take pen and paper and try to report what I've witnessed.
Stephen Vizinczey (b. 1933) Hungarian-born British writer, editor, and broadcaster. Truth and Lies in Literature. (1986)

  1. I thought gazing into space was a prerequisite for a creative mind. Although, my science teacher used to say I was daydreaming, but, then, he would - give him a test tube and some litmus paper and he'd become orgasmic.

  7. A dream that was so vivid during sleep has the habit of shape shifting and fragmenting at the point of consciousness, remaining just beyond the boundaries of hard material tangible enough to pin down on paper. I've even tried sneaking a hand from under the bed clothes whilst caught between the two worlds in the hope of grasping notebook and pen before it's too late to jot things down; only to find the more conscious and awake I become the more the memory recedes beyond my grasp. What made perfect sense within the dream runs away laughing, teasing me from the hidden depths it will inhabit until sleep beckons it forth once again, although usually when I least expect it.
